USF...watch out!

After months on pins and needles, Chris was recently accepted into the University of San Francisco's Sport Management Master's program. USF was Chris's first choice...other options were SDSU and Seton Hall in New Jersey. Thank goodness we don't have to move to NJ!

He just quit his sales job at Pitney Bowes and is now working at Starbucks again. Nice that it's down the street from our house....especially with gas prices where they're at! School starts the first week of July and will meet on Wednesday nights at the satellite campus in Orange County. (Yes...I'm the breadwinner for a while.) Chris is very excited to be in school again, but we're very excited to him to finish in 2 years also!

We're low on cereal

The other day I opened the pantry to start dinner and a small box of cereal fell on the floor. I went to put it back on the shelf and this is what I found. Normally this portion of the shelf is filled with Chris's Costco-sized cereal boxes, but Inky found himself right at home!

At least Petco Park is nice

I'm not a baseball fan, but I'm a proud San Diegan. It would be nice to live in a city with a winning baseball team. Petco Park was built just a few years ago, and it only makes sense that if they have a winning ballpark, they'll give us a winning team. Well, we have a winning ballpark. A ballpark with so much revenue potential... surrounded by beautiful downtown San Diego... meaning revenue potential for our in-debt city!

But we don't have a winning baseball team. We have a team that is in last place in our league. A team that has great pitching and no offense. A team that has scored 15 runs in the last 70 innings! Why would anyone want to go to Petco Park to watch a LOSING baseball team?! Come on Padres execs...spend some money on some power hitters so we'll have a fighting chance. Maybe if you spend some money you'll make some money.

But...we do have a winning football team. A team that went far into the playoffs...do they get a new stadium? NO! Because our city officials don't know what the heck they're doing. They give the OK for a new baseball stadium, which, despite a losing team, has still brought in more revenue than before it was built. But they say NO to a new stadium for our WINNING Chargers, which would bring in even more revenue... plus it would bring Superbowl potential to our city. Argh!

Super Mario 3

Chris bought me a Wii for my birthday in November. One of the features of the Wii is that you can download games from past Nintendo systems...most are around just $10! No more trying to play on the NES...hoping the game will work, and if not, blowing on it and trying again. Nope, just point the wireless controller at the screen and hit a button. The game is stored on the system. It's the best.

My sister and I spent hours upon hours playing Super Mario Bros. when we were growing up. Our favorite was Super Mario 3. We knew every trick in the book. (Literally...we had a cheat book and we knew it by heart.) Well, it had been years since I had played Mario 3. But one of the main reasons I wanted the Wii was to play it again. And play it I have. I've forgotten many of the secrets, but they're coming back to me. I don't know where my cheat book went, but I did find a website that has some of its pages scanned :) It's not the same though. Although, I do know how to match every card when I get the N Mushroom House - there are 8 possible puzzles...

Although downloading games from the 90's is a pretty cool perk of the Wii, most people don't just buy a Wii so they can play old Mario games. They buy it so they can play the new and improved games featuring updated technology. I have those "updated" games - and I do enjoy them from time to time - but I love playing my Super Mario 3. And I'm not ashamed!

Inky and Holly

I talk so much about Oslo all the time so I figured I should give some love to my two other babies. You have probably figured out that my kitties aren't quite as spoiled as Oslo, but they still get lots of love! Inky and Holly love nothing more than to sunbathe outside on our balcony.

Inker is my magestic boy...
And Holly is just a cutie...

Hurry up, Maddie!

I can't wait to meet sweet little Madison Grace. Ashley is due on June 13th...look how big she was 2 weeks ago! Every time I see her she's so much bigger, even if it's just a week in between!

I am so excited to be an aunt. It's so much better than being a mom at this point in my life! I get to spoil and play with my little niece, and then when I'm done I just give her back to mom and dad.

Maddie, I can't wait until June when I get to meet you and be the best auntie in the world to you. You are so loved already!

MAMMOTH (yes, again!)

We went to Mammoth St. Patty's weekend. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday were SO cold and SO windy and snowed! Oslo loved the fresh snow. His favorite thing was when we threw the ball and it got a little buried in the snow, then he'd pounce on it and dig it out.

On Monday it was warm with bluebird skies. Even with the cold and windy weather, it was a great weekend of snowboarding!

St. Patty's Day (Chris's birthday) breakfast at The Stove! Mmmmmm.
